'Marugoto (A2-2) Japanese Online Course' has been released in the Japanese learning platform, "JF Japanese e-Learning Minato". (https://minato-jf.jp)

This course is the main course of 'Minato', and is recommended for those who wish to comprehensively study both the Japanese language and the Japanese culture.

Using interactive e-learning teaching materials you are able to learn Japanese designed for communication (listening, speaking, reading, writing) in an integrated manner.

This course is one level higher than the Marugoto A1-1, A1-2,A2-1 (Katsudoo & Rikai) Self-Study Course.

The MARUGOTO+ (MARUGOTO Plus) series of websites allows you to learn Japanese language and culture in line with the contents of the Japanese language coursebook, Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture, which is based on the JF Standard for Japanese-Language Education. The new Elementary 2 (A2) site has joined the two websites available to date, Starter (A1) and Elementary 1 (A2).

With four types of content: Conversation, Grammar, Kanji, and Life and Culture, you enjoy practicing through videos and quizzes , and you can learn the contents of Marugoto in more detail. The site has Japanese and English versions, and is designed to be responsive to smartphones as well.

This time, the vocabulary words and expressions for Elementary 2 (A2) have also been added to the MARUGOTO-NO-KOTOBA, a website containing the vocabulary and expressions used in Marugoto. It's now easier to use with new features added.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Kansai, the former participants of Japanese-Language Programs for Foreign-Service Officers and Public Officials (DLGL) kindly sent their warm congratulatory messages to the Institute. DLGL has received 576 diplomats and 152 public officials for the past 20 years. They are now working for their Foreign Ministries and other public organizations across the world, including their embassies in Tokyo.

We chose the 3 best readers from the Japanese-Language Program for Foreign-Service Officers and Public Officials at the Kansai Center's library!

The library of The Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Kansai both supports the invited overseas foreign-service officers and public officials, the participants in the Japanese Program, the participants in the Japanese Language programs from overseas, and the researchers both in Japan and abroad and opens up its collection of materials.

The collection has books introducing Japanese culture and society and collects information and materials about understanding Japan and fields related to Japan in multiple languages, and many Japanese books translated into a variety of languages.

This time, we have selected the three Best Readers from the Japanese-Language Program for Foreign-Service Officers and Public Officials who borrowed the most books and magazines etc. from The Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute Kansai's library.

1st Place 176 books Mr.Waziri (Federal Republic of Nigeria - Foreign Service Officer)

2nd Place 146 books Mr.Dimitry (Jamaica - Foreign Service Officer)

3rd place 96 books Ms.Nataly (Republic of Panama - Public official)

Indonesian, Thai, and Spanish languages have now been added as languages of explanation to the 'Marugoto (A1) Japanese Online Course', which is part of the Japanese language learning platform 'JF Japanese e-Learning Minato' (https://minato-jf.jp - below referred to as 'Minato').

This course is the main course of 'Minato', and is recommended for those who wish to comprehensively study both the Japanese language and the Japanese culture. Using interactive e-learning teaching materials you are able to learn Japanese designed for communication (listening, speaking, reading, writing) in an integrated manner.

Further, in combination with the offering of the Indonesian and Thai language versions of this course, we have also added Indonesian and Thai language versions of the web site 'MARUGOTO Words (MARUGOTO-NO-KOTOBA) ' (http://words.marugotoweb.jp/), following the Spanish language version which was released in 2013.

This web site allows you to learn the vocabulary and expressions used within the 'Starter (A1)' and 'Elementary 1 (A2)' coursebook 'Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture', which complies with the 'The JF Standard for Japanese-Language Education'.
